From the moment I understood the implications associated with Stuart’s injury, I knew there was only one place he needed to be, Meridian Equine Rehabilitation & Wellness. As a helicopter horse owner, I knew Stuart required the best of the best in order to help him heal in a safe and effective manner, as well as calm any anxiety I had not being able to see him every day – Dr. Peckham and her team did just that. From the moment I left Stuart at the facility to the day I picked him up, I never wondered or worried what his care was like. From bi-weekly photo and/or video updates, the team at Meridian Equine made me feel like I was involved in the daily care of my precious horse. Dr. Peckham and her team went above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined – even offering to puree carrots after a choking incident to ensure Stuart still has his daily carrots. With access to the water treadmill four times a week, Stuart is stronger than he was pre-injury; and that’s saying something for a 23 year old! I can’t speak to the excellence that is Dr. Peckham and her team enough. The 5-star facility and experience they provide is unlike anything else this area has to offer. I’m internally grateful to Dr. Peckham and her team for getting Stuart healthy enough to go back to where we left (Intermediate 1) and for giving me the opportunity to ride my unicorn again down centerline.
